Mosquito Control

There are many Mosquito Types in Pakistan, like:

  • Aedes aegypti (Yellow fever Mosquitoes)
  • Anopheles cellia (Marsh Mosquitoes)
  • Culex pipiens (House Mosquitoes)

What they look like?

Mosquitoes have slender bodies with long legs. While their size varies by species, most of them are smaller than 15 mm in length and weigh less than 2.5 mg. Although they appear fragile, they are extremely resilient insects whose females may draw blood from a variety of animals.

Life Cycle

In most species, adult females lay their eggs in stagnant water, on the water’s edge; or attach it to aquatic plants. Each species selects the situation of the water into which it lays its eggs and does so according to its own adaptation. The pupa also lives in the water but no longer feeds. Finally, the mosquito emerges from the pupal case after 2-7 days in the pupal stage. The life cycle typically takes up 2 weeks, but depending on conditions, it can range from 4 days to as long as a month.

Mosquito’s females are also known as blood feeder mosquitoes and they are attracted to potassium, salt, and lactic acid released by your body. Fragrances are known to attract mosquitoes. All adult mosquitoes feed on the nectar or honey dew of plants to get sugar, and that provides enough nourishment for both males and females to live, but females also need to produce eggs. To create eggs, females need protein, which they get from the blood of humans. Our mosquito control chemicals and professional mosquito control product stops them from continuing this activity.

Dengue / Mosquitoes rest in tall grass, weeds, and bushes near inhabited locations such as homes and other buildings. Mosquitoes breed in quiet places, and fresh water locations found around the home. They look for sheltered places, such as brush or thick weeds, caves or rock shelters, holes in the ground, hollow logs or holes in trees. The adults live under leaves and in tree bark to escape punishing rain but they increase in damp areas. The Dengue Mosquito that causes Dengue Fever which is the reason of thousands of deaths in Pakistan since 2011 is born in fresh water.

Diseased Caused by these pests

Why is it necessary to control them?

Diseases that are spread to people by mosquitoes include Dengue, Malaria, Yellow fever, Zika virus and Chikungunya virus. Dengue fever and Malaria are the most deadly diseases caused by mosquitoes. Dengue fever symptoms include body pain, restlessness, itch on the body and high fever. If a person suffers from dengue he/she cannot recover instantly, dengue fever treatment takes long to recover, in some cases maybe from a few weeks to 1 month.

Although most people do not become sick after a bite from an infected mosquito, some people have a mild, short-term illness or (rarely) severe or long-term illness. Mosquitoes can cause diseases that may be passed on to people through mosquito bites.

Preventive Measures

There are many simple things you can do to avoid getting bitten by mosquitoes, including:

  • Wear long, loose-fitting clothes if mosquitoes are around.
  • Cover up as much as possible.
  • Use an effective mosquito repellent on all exposed skin.
  • Prevent mosquito breeding around your own home.
  • Prevent mosquitoes from getting inside by using fly screens on windows and doors.
  • Use mosquito coils or insecticide candles in small, outdoor areas
